Get involved by volunteering some of your time during the IX REP Conference – October 23-25, Austin, TX

Central Texas students are encouraged to sign up as volunteers to pay for their meeting registration costs. Conference registration grants access to all panel, paper and poster sessions, an opening reception, three meals (2 lunches and one dinner) and optional field trips.

How Are Shifts Assigned?
After receiving your online notification of interest, we will distribute an electronic sign-in sheet. We ask all volunteers to work a minimum 4-hour shift on either Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday or Thursday.

Shift Descriptions
Conference volunteers will be assigned to one or more of the duties below:

  • Registration Desk – Give attendees their registration badges and materials at check-in and answer general questions. This job involves a lot of talking.
  • Session Area Monitor – Monitor a group of session rooms to keep talks running smoothly. Report any problems to conference
  • Miscellaneous Helper – Assist with activities or needs as participants arrive at the conference, including monitoring the refreshment area (coffee, water, snacks) and helping set up, take down and monitor the booth exhibit during conference hours on Wednesday and Thursday. Involves working with conference staff, answering questions.
